It has always been the aim of secularists to elect an atheist into the office of the President of the United States. Never have they been closer to achieving this goal, and never have the stakes been higher. With November only 2 months away, atheists are putting all their effort into supporting the campaign for possibly the first atheist president—Donald Trump.
“It is clear to [Trump’s supporters] that he is just miming the language or impersonating a person of faith, but they don’t care really, as long as he does it. He might be our first atheist president.” Sam Harris
I was surprised to see that Sam Harris is clever enough to see past Trump’s obvious fake Christian act. The overwhelming number of atheists I’ve encountered actually believe Trump. On the other hand, the majority of scholars are aware that he is only pandering to Conservative voters when he claims to be a devout follower of Christ. Why are atheists oblivious to this farce? Is it because they are sincerely that easy to dupe, or is it because they want Trump to win and are aiding in his guise knowing an out-of-the-closet atheist could never be President?
Let’s examine the facts. Trump claims to be a Presbyterian Protestant. He told reporters that he attends Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan, his words, “as often as I can, a lot”. The church responded to Trump’s claim with this statement:
“Donald Trump has had a longstanding history with Marble Collegiate Church, where his parents were for years active members and one of his children was baptized. However, as he indicates, he is a Presbyterian, and is not an active member of Marble.” Marble Collegiate Church
Why did The Donald lie? The answer, that sheep like atheists can’t seem to grasp, is that Trump always lies. He’s a liar. He’s pandering to conservative Christians to get their vote. Face the facts folks, Trump is an atheist.
Trump has claimed that the Bible is his favorite book. Let’s test his knowledge with this quote from the Big Man himself, Donald Trump:
“Two Corinthians 3:17, that’s the whole ballgame. … Is that the one you like?” Trump asked. “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” Donald Trump
“Two Corinthians,” he said. It is actually referred to as “Second Corinthians” as any real Christian would be able to tell you. Am I violating the No True Scotsman fallacy by saying that? Funny, because Trump blamed his Scottish heritage for the blunder. Another lie, no true Scotsman says “Two Corinthians” either.
If you need more evidence, then you clearly haven’t been paying any attention to this election and know nothing about Donald Trump. This is not a man who bows to a power greater than himself. This is not a man seeking salvation from his sins. This is not a man committed to any theistic ideology whatsoever. Atheists, you are either playing along with this charade to progress your secularist agenda, or you’re dumb. I suspect both are true.
